Explained in Brief – eWay Bill Part A & B

eWay Bill is an electronic way bill for the transit of goods generated on the GST portal for movement of goods from one place to another wherein, the supplier/agent consignment amount exceeds ₹ 50000.

It is divided into two parts namely – Part A & Part B.

eWay Bill Part A

Part A comprises of details of recipient such as –

  • GST Registration Number
  • Place of Delivery
  • Invoice/Challan Number
  • Reasons of Transportation
  • Value of the goods
  • HSN Code, etc.

eWay Bill Part B

Part B contains details of the transporter & vehicle –

  • Vehicle Number
  • Transporter ID or Transporter Vehicle Registration Number

When is eWay Bill Issued?

eWay Bill is issued when goods are supplied for transportation, exchange or sale from one state or another. This supply involves a payment of money for delivery or exchange of goods. There is a list for exceptional goods which irrespective of the consignment amount has to generate e-way bill and some goods that do not require e-way bill.

Once your e- way bill is generated then again all of these above -mentioned documents are to be carried by the transporter at the time of movement of goods.
