An Indian Passport is required by citizens of India for
International Travel and it serves as a proof of Indian Citizenship as per the
Passports Act(1967).
Documents Required for a New Passport
To get a fresh passport you need to furnish proof of
address, proof of date of birth and proof of non-ECR*(previously ECNR).
Address Proof – To issue a new Passport
- Utility Bills – Water Bill, Landline/Postpaid Mobile Bill, Electricity Bill or Proof of Gas Connection
- Income Tax Assesment Order

- Diplomatic Passport Holder – No document required
- Gazetted Government Servants & their family – ID Certificate, marriage certificate for spouse
